COVID-19 Update Notice

April 1, 2023

To our patients and families:

Thank you for your continued patience as we offer in-office and telehealth appointments. We are excited to be able to work with our patients in person, and we ask for your assistance in doing so safely. Please read the following notifications carefully. Failure to comply with safety and hygiene procedures will result in dismissal from services.

  • On April 3, 2023 the Oregon Health Authority lifted the mask mandate for health care settings. Birdsong Speech Therapy clinic falls under medical setting guidelines where workers, patients, and visitors are no longer required to wear masks.

  • Our policy continues to be to offer teletherapy if the therapist and patient or caregivers determine therapy can be effectively delivered (and reimbursed) remotely. Service delivery via telehealth determinations should be made based on the effectiveness of therapy for each patient.

  • Birdsong employees and volunteers will continue to wear masks during sessions in which adult patients and caregivers of pediatric patients communicate that wish/need to Birdsong workers.

  • Patients and caregivers who demonstrate any signs of illness (including but not limited to coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, fever) will be immediately dismissed from the office and may resume therapy following OHA and CDC guidelines.

  • If necessary, patients may be accompanied by 1 caregiver. We encourage additional family members and caregivers to limit their time in the office.

  • Birdsong staff may conduct a brief symptoms interview and may check temperatures of individuals using a touchless thermometer upon entering the office upon entry. Birdsong therapists reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone based on these results.

Thank you for your understanding and compliance. The safety and well-being of our clients, families, and staff is our utmost priority. Feel free to contact us for more information or clarification.
