COVID-19 Update Notice
May 1, 2022
To our patients and families:
Thank you for your continued patience as we offer in-office and telehealth appointments. We are excited to be able to work with our patients in person, and we ask for your assistance in doing so safely. Please read the following notifications carefully. Failure to comply with safety and hygiene procedures will result in dismissal from services.
On April 30, 2022 Oregon almost fully reopened. Birdsong Speech Therapy falls under medical setting guidelines, including required mask wearing. Our policy continues to be to opt for teletherapy if the therapist and patient or caregivers determine therapy can be effectively delivered (and reimbursed) remotely. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis. Please note that these determinations should be made based on the effectiveness of therapy for each patient.
Adult patients and caregivers of pediatric patients should continue to plan to bring and wear masks. Pediatric patients who are able to wear a mask and still participate in treatment should also have and be encouraged to wear masks (we understand this may not work for some children).
Patients and caregivers who demonstrate any signs of illness (including but not limited to coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, fever) will be immediately dismissed from the office and may resume therapy following OHA and CDC guidelines.
If necessary, patients may be accompanied by 1 caregiver. We encourage additional family members and caregivers to limit their time in the office.
Birdsong staff will conduct a brief symptoms interview and may check temperatures of individuals using a touchless thermometer upon entering the office upon entry. Birdsong therapists reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone based on these results.
Thank you for your understanding and compliance. The safety and well-being of our clients, families, and staff is our utmost priority. Feel free to contact us for more information or clarification.
